Joann Yoon
Joann Yoon is a Child Policy Specialist with Voices for Georgia’s Children, a statewide non-profit, non-partisan policy and advocacy organization speaking up for the wellbeing of children in Georgia. Within this capacity, Joann focuses on analysis, outreach, and advocacy specific to the issue of children’s health. In addition, she also supports the health aspects of Voices’ early childhood and juvenile justice agendas. Joann conducts analysis on current data on children’s health and produces recommendations, policy memorandums, and briefs. Joann represents Voices by providing testimony before State legislators and also advocates for Voices’ children’s health policy agenda at both the Federal and State level and in public forums and discussions before various audiences.
Prior to joining Voices, Joann was a staff attorney with the Health Law Partnership, a medical-legal collaborative, representing low-income families of children treated at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She also practiced law as the Pro Bono Fellow at the law firm of Hunton & Williams in Atlanta, Georgia. Joann began her career as the Legal Services Coordinator at the Center for Pan Asian Community Services, Inc. in Doraville, Georgia. An Ohio native, Joann received her undergraduate degree in Advertising from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her Juris Doctor degree from Emory University School of Law.
